How long have you been doing this for?
I’ve been shooting weddings full-time for 6 years and have been working as a commercial photographer for 4. In that time I have shot about 150 weddings and at times it has been rather hectic, which is why I now limit the number of weddings I book each year.
Do you work alone?
I do! And I like it that way. Working alone means I can tell your story from a single, consistent viewpoint in my own style. Though I also work with a fantastic second shooter – also a professional wedding photographer – you can add on if you are planning a large wedding (say, more than 150 guests) or if you want photos of both of you getting ready in separate locations.
How long can we book you for?
On weekends (Saturday, Sunday and Bank holidays) I only book full day packages. On weekdays you can book me for a short stint as well.
When do you arrive and how long do you stay for?
It’s very much up to you! For getting ready photos I usually arrive about 1.5 hours before you leave for the ceremony. This allows me to warm up my creative muscles, you can get used to me being around, and I can get all the relevant detail and dressing up shots. I usually stay until just after the first dance (if there is one), between 8 and 10 hours altogether, though we’ll discuss your schedule in detail to make sure everything important is covered.
How many images will we get?
Depending on the size of your wedding and what you have planned, usually 400-500 retouched images.
Do you do group shots?
Absolutely, if you want them, I’m game. I’ll ask you to prepare a shot list and I also very strongly suggest you limit the number of photos to 6-8 so we don’t spend more than 30 minutes on this. I wouldn’t want you to pose for hours and miss out on all the fun!
When do we get to see our photos?
About 4-5 weeks after your wedding you’ll get a parcel through the door with a flash drive full of images in a pretty little box. You’ll receive low resolution images you can share on the web as well as high resolution files you can print to your hearts’ content.
Do you do albums?
Oh yes, I love crafting albums. I work with QT, a wonderful little company in Europe, who produce hand-bound art books in a variety of sizes and colours. You can look at them here or email me for a brochure.
How can we book you?
In the first instance, get in touch via my contact form and tell me about the when and where and what you have planned for your big day. If I am available on your wedding date we can fix a meeting over coffee or on Skype and chat some more (if you fancy). Then, all I need is a £500 deposit and a signed contract to confirm you in my diary.
And how far in advance?
Most couples book me 8-12 months before their wedding though there’s nothing wrong with being spontaneous. I’ll always try and accommodate short notice bookings and if I’m already booked I’ll happily provide you with a handful of names of highly recommended photographer friends.
